LeBron James & Rest Of L.A. Lakers Will Be Vaccinated For COVID-19 By Start Of NBA Season, Team’s General Manager Says

It looks like LeBron James will get vaccinated for COVID-19 if he hasn’t already!

According to recent reports, Rob Pelinka—the general manager and vice president of basketball operations for the L.A. Lakers—says the entire team will be vaccinated by the season opener. Yesterday (Thursday, Sept. 23rd), Rob Pelinka stated:

“On opening night, all of the players that are currently signed on our roster will be deemed fully vaccinated. We’re grateful for that.”

Rob Pelinka’s statements indicate that LeBron James, who had previously refused to acknowledge the matter, will have the COVID-19 before the next season kicks off. Earlier this year, LeBron James referred to the vaccination matter as “a private thing” he would discuss with his family. He stated:

“Things like that, when you decide to do something, I think that’s a conversation between you and your family and not for everybody. So I’ll keep it that way.”

Despite avoiding the subject, there is some speculation that LeBron James has indeed already gotten the COVID-19 vaccine. Back in May, LeBron James hosted an event for his tequila brand—Lobos 1707–before an NBA game. As a result, this sparked speculation that he would be suspended for breaking the league’s COVID-19 protocols.

However, the NBA decided to not suspend LeBron. The league later released a statement on the decision, writing:

“LeBron James briefly attended an outdoor event last week where participants were required to be vaccinated or return a negative test result. Under these circumstances and in consultation with medical experts, it was determined that his attendance did not create risks related to the spread of COVID-19 and therefore no quarantine was necessary.”

Because of the NBA’s decision, some believe LeBron James was vaccinated prior to his tequila event and, as a result.
